Cigna is a medigap insurance provider offering standardized Medicare supplement policies A, F, G and N. With Cigna Medicare supplement products, claims are filed electronically eliminating the need to fill out claim forms. As Cigna Medicare insurance is insured by American Retirement Life Insurance Company, there is no need to stay in a network. Any physician who accepts Medicare accepts American Retirement Life Insurance. Other benefits of enrolling in a Cigna Medicare insurance plan include the speed with which policies are issued, an average of only 3 to 5 days, and policy choices that cover deductibles for Part A and Part B.
Cigna guarantees their Medicare supplement policies to be renewable for life. However, the company reserves the right to raise premiums based on attained age, changes in Medicare coverage or if the policy holder should move to an area where a different rate is incurred.
Cigna Medicare insurance also provides four Medicare Advantage plans to those who have decided not to choose Original Medicare coverage Part A and Part B in favor of a more comprehensive healthcare plan. The Cigna Medicare Select Plus Rx Medicare supplement policies, as they are called, are all HMO based.
The four types of Medicare supplement products offered by Cigna Medicare insurance are:
Standard (HMO) plan with a monthly $0 premium
Dual (HMO SNP) plan with monthly $0 premium
Diabetes Heart (HMO SNP) plan with monthly $0 premium
Premium (HMO) plan with monthly $25 premium
While Cigna’s Medicare Select Plus Rx plans include the basic benefits as outlined in the Original Medicare plan, they also cover ER visits and hospitalization, as well as generic and brand name prescription drugs. Optional dental plans are also offered.
